Lovely village pub. Very friendly great service.
Under new management it is going well. Sunday lunch was tasty and my friend Kath and I attentended Jailhouse Rockers. Music and atmosphere was great.
Pub recently changed ownership and we visited with friends who live in Illogen. The food was delicious. We came as family of seven for reserved table. Food was fresh and served hot with a very short wait. The sticky toffee pudding came out with a freshly made caramel sauce and was lovely. Will be visiting again on our next visit to Cornwall. You wouldn't have thought the new owners had only been their a few weeks judging g by the standard and speed of food coming out of the kitchen. Really enjoyable night. Thankyou
We are on holiday and went to this pub after looking at the reviews. Although it is under new management (2 weeks) it is a very friendly pub with a separate dining area. The food we had was excellent with a wide variety on the menu. Although we are only here for a week, we booked we booked evening. We highly recommend it.
A proper (dog friendly) pub with good food, well kept beer, welcoming hosts, pleasant staff, and friendly locals. A real find on our recent holiday. It is just a shame the current landlord/landlady are leaving* in a couple of weeks as they are a real asset. *Another greedy brewery, forcing rents higher, and higher, until the business is unsustainable. No doubt it will be closed, permanently, before long, like so many others.
