Excellent multiplex, managing to retain the art deco style of the original theatre whilst meeting the needs of the cinema going population. Has ensured it's history associated with live theatre continues, with local performances as well as live music, comedy, panto, and drama. Currently offering approx 500 seats in a variety of settings, stalls, private boxes and circle seating with bars available in the intervals. Also offers pre performance meals as well as special meal deals, a loyalty card which gives discount on food and drinks in the restaurant bar.
Very good variety of films and shows available. Access for able and disabled. Hot food, snacks and drinks are available and tasty. Good value for money, even more so if you have a movie magic card. Recommended.
A great cinema with multiple screens and a small stage which has accommodated some awesome talent. Cinema; Charging eight pounds and then showing 30 minutes of large screen advertising before the film starts is cheeky. 500ml of ice with diet black fizzy costs 3 each.
Food was delicious but could do with a larger eating area especially as we had come to see Tom Allen and there were a lot of people milling about waiting in the area between the diners and the bar. We were charged for a pint of beer when we only had half,but absolutely no quibble refunding the difference. Which is why I gave 4 stars. overall a very pleasant experience.
What a lovely little theatre. The staff are really helpful, friendly and pleasant. There's plenty of legroom in all of the stalls rows. Getting served in the stalls bar during the intermission was relatively painless and speedy with two bar staff on. Discounts on food and drink with a Merlin card are a bonus and access from the nearby car park is excellent.
